About
Hello! I am so grateful to have the opportunity to make a difference in your children's lives this year. This is my seventh year teaching 3rd grade and certainly my happy place. Over the past 8 years I've been teaching in Indianapolis and before that near Atlanta, GA. At the end of this school year, I will have completed my 14th year in education and will have taught every grade level, Kindergarten through 5th. Time flies when you are having fun!
After graduating from Wright State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education my husband and I moved to the Atlanta, Georgia area. I taught there for 4 years before moving to Indiana. I have since obtained a Master's degree in Elementary Education with an additional reading certificate and a gifted and talented certificate. My husband of twelve years and I have three beautiful boys (ages 13, 10 and 8), they keep us busy but we wouldn't have it any other way.
This year we will be using Class Dojo for classroom management. Students are awarded “points” throughout the day, and “points” can also be taken away. At the end of each week students are recording their total weekly points and are able to cash some in to earn various rewards throughout the school year. Please ask your student what those awards consist of. The best part of Class Dojo is that parents can monitor the number of points awarded throughout the day. Family invitations were sent home during the first week of school, if you need a new one please send in a note of give me a call. You can also click the link on the homepage.
This year, homework will be a little different in the years past. More information will be coming up regarding homework at the beginning of the school year.
Please plug in to Class Dojo for our communication from myself as well as Ms. Records (Math teacher), Related Arts teachers and administration.
